“Positive aging” or “healthy aging” – what’s the difference?

The simple answer is this: mindset vs. action.

Positive aging is the concept of having an intentionally positive view towards aging as a normal part of life and growth, while “healthy aging” is an achievable decision-based lifestyle choice where better actions now determine long-term benefits.

Healthy beauty is skin that is smooth, glowing, & radiant – regardless of what decade you’re in!

So how can we practically move towards a healthy aging lifestyle?

1. Stem Cell Skincare

Aging at its core is an inflammatory issue. Cue stem cell technology – the next generation of skin care. This exclusive technology harnesses the power of adult stem cell released molecules to awaken your body’s natural regenerative power.

NeoGenesis stem cell technology takes a natural approach to heal with an emphasis on quelling inflammation – a key factor in most skin-related issues. By incorporating S²RM into your daily skincare routine, you are simply returning to your skin what was there when it was young and healthy so you can experience:

    • Minimized appearance of fine lines + wrinkles
    • Skin protection + repair from environmental damage
    • Enhanced collagen production
    • Restored tone + texture

2. Fight Inflammation!

As we age, one of the major changes that occur is the dysregulation of our immune response – which simply means our body is in a chronic state of unresolved inflammation. This impacts everything from our joints and internal organs (hello, bloating) to our skin and even our brains.

So how do we combat it?

With an anti-inflammatory diet, consistent exercise, and topical application of S²RM – all over!

In addition to the topical application of S²RM which reduces superficial inflammation, start by reducing the amount of inflammation your body has to fight in the first place by incorporating foods that fight for you: green, leafy veggies (spinach, kale, collards), nuts (almonds + walnuts especially), sustainably caught fish (wild caught salmon, mackerel, tuna), fruits (berries provide extra antioxidants, bananas for fiber + potassium, and citrus packed for vitamin C, which helps your body make collagen!), and try adding more herbs to your meals (turmeric is a superstar at inhibiting COX-2, an enzyme that is responsible for sparking your body’s inflammatory response).

When it comes to exercise, a little goes a long way. Start small, but be consistent. Try low-impact exercises like swimming, yoga, walking and cycling. Increased blood and oxygen flow to the cells flushes out free radicals that contribute to the signs of aging, not to mention these types of exercises are easier on inflamed joints.

The topical application of S²RM is just as important on your body as it is on your face. Don’t skip your décolletage. Your neck and chest most likely see as much sun as your beautiful face does, so make sure to protect and take care of it. South of the décolletage, try NeoGenesis Body Cream –  a luxurious, anti-aging cream for all-over deep hydration that uses S²RM® technology to repair and restore the deeper layers of the skin.

Did you know that 80% of your results come from YOU and your home habits? When you commit to your skincare, you commit to your results.

Build a routine + be consistent. Make sure you’re completing your morning + nightly self care routines, and make it enjoyable! See it as “me time” and an opportunity for intentional relaxation while you nourish your skin (don’t forget the SPF!).

Get enough sleep. Those 7-8 hours might seem like rest to you, but your body is working hard to repair and rejuvenate while you get that much-needed shut-eye.

Hydrate! Your body is over 60% water – at least, it should be. You can lose between 1lb to 1.5 pounds of water just while you sleep, so make sure to drink a full glass of water upon waking every day, especially if you will be caffeinating. Considering your skin is your largest organ, we encourage you to make hydration a top priority. You can set reminders on your phone to hydrate during the day, and keep it interesting with fruit infusions.

Keep going – and give it time!

While your body is hard at work restoring what it’s lost over the decades, remember to be kind to your body and give it the time it needs to rejuvenate. Results will come!
