RADIATION DERMATITIS

Repeated radiation exposure causes an imbalance in the tissue so that exposed skin is damaged faster than it can repair itself. This leads to extreme redness and pain, as well as blisters, cracked skin, peeling and darkening of the skin. NeoGenesis offers oncology friendly products that work to strengthen and support the skin during radiation treatments.

REVIEWS

“My skin was sore to the touch… It is burned in what, I think, are varying levels of first degree burns. I felt very crispy. I put Recovery on last night and wanted to see if it worked. After 8-10 hours, I didn’t have to put any Lidocaine or Neosporin on. It felt so good, I did not want to put other products on. After one application, I can tell you I have not felt this kind of relief from any other products. I was convinced and began Day 2.” ~ DN

“After six weeks of radiation her skin looked like she had two weeks of treatments. The Recovery serum really conditioned her skin, making it stronger and more resilient to withstand radiation.” ~ BW – Skin B Natural

RADIATION DERMATITIS

Undergoing radiation during cancer treatment can be extremely damaging to the skin. A common side effect of radiation is a skin condition called radiation dermatitis, also known as X-ray dermatitis or radiation burns. Concentrated exposure to radiation causes painful, red marks on the skin. As radiation treatment continues, the skin doesn’t have enough time between doses to heal. Eventually, the affected area of the skin breaks down. This causes pain, discomfort, and rashes. Many patients undergoing radiation will experience moderate-to-severe skin reactions that typically occur within the first two weeks of the treatment. Unfortunately, these reactions can last for several years after the radiation therapy is complete. It is important to work with your health care professional when dealing with radiation dermatitis. With the right approach, this side effect can be reduced or eliminated.

NeoGenesis offers a line of skin care products that are Oncology friendly. These products naturally prepare, strengthen, and support the skin by delivering nutrient-rich molecules to areas that are about to be treated, or are already inflamed, burned, and peeling. Our patented S²RM® technology is effective, yet gentle enough to be used on broken and damaged skin. The topical application of our advanced product Recovery serum, abundant in S²RM® molecules, may help with the symptoms of radiation dermatitis. Follow Recovery with our Intensive Moisturizer or Barrier Renewal Cream and apply as often as needed to calm the skin.

Along with the appropriate topical products, patients receiving radiation therapy should be advised to avoid sun exposure by covering the treated area with protective clothing or chemical free sunscreen. Avoid topical skin irritants, such as perfumes, deodorants, and alcohol-based lotions.

Now more than ever, the oncology community is looking for ways to improve their quality of life during and post-treatment. Patient and professional feedback has been overwhelmingly positive regarding the natural results NeoGenesis products provide. Reducing side effects is an incredibly positive advancement for the patient, their medical team, and their loved ones.
