“ML has struggled with hormonal acne for several years. She deals with hyperpigmentation and discoloration that is left behind from the acne. Her pores are larger between the eyes, in the t-zone, and around her nose.

I started her on a regimen of Cleanser, Recovery and Eye Serum mornings and evenings. When she starts to feel the acne flare up, she spot treats with Salicylic Acid Gel. When she has microneedling, I use Moisturizing Mist and Light Moisturizer after the treatments. Barrier Renewal Cream instead of Light Moisturizer, if the skin is compromised. She also started using the Mandelic Acid 8%.

ML’s breakouts are much less now (every 3 months instead of every 3 weeks) and the cysts are much smaller. They go away in 1/2 the time. Her skin is hydrated and glowing. Her acne scars are a lot better. We are also seeing an improvement in her fine lines, especially around the eyes.” – Lisa Brascho

HORMONAL ACNE + HYPERPIGMENTATION

Hormonal acne and hyperpigmentation often go hand in hand because they are both influenced by hormones. When there is an increase in androgens, it can also stimulate the production of melanin, leading to hyperpigmentation. This is why many individuals who struggle with hormonal acne also experience dark spots or patches on their skin.

Hormonal acne can be a frustrating and persistent skin condition, especially for those who have been dealing with it for several years. The hormonal fluctuations that occur during puberty, pregnancy, or menopause can trigger excess oil production and clogged pores, leading to breakouts. In addition to the physical symptoms of acne, many individuals also struggle with hyperpigmentation and scarring that can be left behind from the blemishes.

One of the biggest challenges with treating hormonal acne and hyperpigmentation is that they can be stubborn and recurring issues. Many over-the-counter products may not be effective in treating them, and some prescription medications may come with unwanted side effects.

Finding an effective skincare regimen can make a world of difference. With a range of products specifically formulated to address common skin concerns such as acne and hyperpigmentation, NeoGenesis provides a comprehensive solution for achieving clear, healthy skin.
