“I was in so much pain. The doctors have no clue how much Fluorouracil hurts. I wish they had to experience it. They only offered Aquaphor which did nothing for me.

I can’t believe how much improvement there is! No more burning, pain or open sores. Does not hurt or sting when gently washing my face with my fingers. No more peeling and do not need as much moisturizer. I am not brushing my hair in front of my face now to hide the damage. There are spots and redness which I imagine will take longer to go away or get less, but I almost look human without makeup!

All I can say to you is that I could not be happier with how things worked out. It is like a miracle as far as I am concerned. Unbelievable. I now look like a normal person, even without makeup on.

Also, the most important thing, no pain, which diminished pretty quickly when I started your products. I am thrilled with that and would recommend your products to anyone. In fact, when I go into my doctor for my 3-month check-up I will bring some information on it with me because they should be promoting it in their office if they are going to be doing those kinds of procedures and others. They do other types of surgeries there too.” – Beth S.

CHEMOTHERAPY SIDE EFFECTS

During chemotherapy treatment, patients often experience a range of side effects, including those that affect the skin, making it particularly vulnerable to irritation and damage. One of the most common skin-related side effects is chemotherapy-induced skin dryness or xerosis. This condition occurs as chemotherapy drugs can significantly reduce the amount of oil the skin glands produce, leading to dry, flaky, and sometimes itchy skin. Such skin dryness can make daily activities uncomfortable and may also make the skin more susceptible to infections if the dryness leads to cracking.

Photosensitivity, or increased sensitivity to sunlight, is also a side effect that chemotherapy patients may experience. This heightened sensitivity can lead to sunburn after even limited exposure to the sun, making it crucial for patients to use sun protection, including sunscreen with high SPF, wearing hats, and limiting sun exposure during peak hours.

Another notable side effect is chemotherapy-induced acneiform rash, which resembles acne but is caused by the treatment rather than bacteria. This rash can develop on the face, chest, or back, causing redness, discomfort, and sometimes pain. It’s essential for patients undergoing chemotherapy to consult with their healthcare providers about managing this side effect to prevent infections and scarring.

Chemotherapy can also cause changes in skin pigmentation, leading to darker or lighter areas on the skin. While these changes are often temporary, they can be concerning for patients.

NeoGenesis skin care products strengthen and support the skin during chemotherapy treatments. Our products are designed to deeply hydrate, nourish, protect, and calm irritated, dry or sensitive skin.
